Halle Berry Engaged to Van Hunt After 6 Years

Halle Berry is preparing for the ultimate union with Van Hunt.

Despite speculation the Monster’s Ball actress turned down a proposal from Van last year, she is happy to confirm they are indeed engaged.

“There’s some confusion,” she told Jimmy Fallon during a Feb. 6 appearance on The Tonight Show. “It’s going around that I, that my guy Van Hunt—I’ve been dating him now for almost six years—well, there’s some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no.”

However, “I did not say no,” Halle affirmed. “We just don’t have a date, but of course I said yes, I would marry him!”

And amid congratulations from Jimmy, the X-Men star teased, “He did put a little ring on it.”

The accompanying jewelry, seen only briefly on camera, appears to not be quite that little, but instead is a chunky gold engagement ring, featuring black designs and a diamond on top. 

Halle’s confirmation that she and Van, 55, are planning their nuptials comes eight months after he shared that while he had popped the question, Halle, 59, hadn’t given him an answer yet.
