Britney Spears has sold a piece of her.
Indeed, the “Toxic” singer sold her music catalog, and a number of other rights, to music publisher Primary Wave, according to multiple outlets.
While the price tag for Britney’s music was not disclosed, legal docs obtained by TMZ show she signed away the ownership share of her music catalog in December.
In recent years, Primary Wave has purchased the catalogs of artists including Stevie Nicks, Prince, Whitney Houston and Biggie Smalls. Other musicians like Justin Bieber, Bruce Springsteen and Shakira have also parted ways with the ownership of their music in sales to other companies, while Taylor Swift’s masters were famously sold by her former label Big Machine Records in 2019 before she purchased them from Shamrock Capital in 2025.
While Britney—who last released an album in 2016—may not own her music catalog anymore, she has certainly been investing her time in her relationship with kids Sean Preston Federline, 20, and Jayden James Federline, 19, who she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
