‘Harry Potter’ Star Alan Rickman’s Widow Says He Had “So Much More to Give” 10 Years After His Death

David Thewlis is “He Who Must Not Be Named” when it comes to the Harry Potter reboot.

Indeed, the British actor, who appeared as Professor Remus Lupin in the film franchise, shared he has no intention to return to his role for the upcoming TV series in production for HBO.

“I feel like I’d be far too old to play my original character,” David told ScreenTime in an interview published Feb. 8, “and, no, I wouldn’t want to go back into it.”

In fact, the 62-year-old confessed through laughter, “I’ve had quite enough of that. I’m sick of talking about it, quite honestly.”

But while the Artful Dodger actor may be wary of revisiting his time starring alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, he remains grateful for the impact the movies had on young people.

“It is nice because with Harry Potter, it’s kids,” David continued. “And kids get very kind of impressed and very over-awed, and it’s very nice to make kids happy.”
