What to know about the Seahawks and the Patriots
The game will be between the Seattle Seahawks — who won their first and only Super Bowl in 2014 — and the New England Patriots, the perennial powerhouses who have nabbed six rings but are making their first return to the big game since 2019.
The match will unfold in Santa Clara, California, at Levi’s Stadium, home to the San Francisco 49ers.
For the Seahawks, this game is an opportunity for redemption.
The last time Seattle made the Super Bowl, in 2015, the Patriots handed them a 28-24 loss. They will be led by quarterback Sam Darnold, who not too long ago was considered a draft bust but now has a chance to complete his own redemption arc.
Meanwhile, the Patriots made their most recent Super Bowl appearance in 2019, when they beat the Los Angeles Rams 13-3.
But this marks the first Super Bowl for the Pats without Bill Belichick as head coach and Tom Brady as quarterback — the teams’ previous six championships were all won with that super duo.
All eyes will be on the Patriots’ starting quarterback, 23-year-old Drake Maye, a finalist for league MVP who is in just his second year with the NFL. If the Patriots win, he’ll be the youngest quarterback ever to win a Super Bowl.
Who is performing at halftime?
Welcome to “Benitobowl,” as fans say.
The halftime show will be headlined by acclaimed Latino singer Bad Bunny, who just won album of the year at the 2026 Grammy awards.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has become a global sensation in recent years. His 2025 album, “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS,” has broken records, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and climbed to No. 1 in its second week.
The Puerto Rican artist is sure to get the crowd and viewers dancing as he makes history as the first Spanish-language Latin solo artist to headline the coveted performance. Here’s a cheat-sheet to his lyrics and upcoming performance.
