Claire Foy had to deal with a years-long royal pain.
The Crown alum recently revealed she gave up caffeine years ago under a strict diet she implemented in response to, as she called it, a “disgusting” stomach issue.
“I had parasites,” she admitted on the Table Manners podcast, before admitting, as the podcast films over a shared meal, “Gross. Shouldn’t have brought that up.”
But amid host Jessie Ware’s curiosity, Claire revealed she thinks picked up the gastrointestinal hitchhikers in Morocco.
“I kept losing weight, and I didn’t know what was going on,” she explained. “No matter how—I was eating everything, I was so hungry.”
“I’d had it quite a long time,” she said, before doctors finally identified the issue. “At least five years. And they travel in pairs, I got told by a doctor.”
As for why, amid the “absolutely rank” discovery of the parasites, the 41-year-old gave up caffeine?
“I basically had to go on this diet,” she explained, “and take all these—because I didn’t want to take hardcore antibiotics for it—all this gross stuff and part of that was giving up caffeine.”
