It’s time to pull back the curtain on America’s Next Top Model.
Tyra Banks, who hosted the competition reality series for its first 22 seasons, is among those speaking out about the show in a new documentary called Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, which hits Netflix on Feb. 16.
“I haven’t really said much,” the 52-year-old says in a trailer for the film released Jan. 26, “but now it’s time.”
At another point, she explains that she “wanted to fight against the fashion industry” with the controversial show, which ultimately ran for 24 seasons, but also admits that she pushed things past the limit to accommodate the fans.
“I knew I went too far,” Tyra concedes. “It was very very intense, but you guys were demanding it, so we kept pushing. More and more and more.”
Several of the series’ original judges are also featured in the doc, including J. Alexander and Nigel Barker, who at one point says that they “felt betrayed” by Tyra. The show’s creative director Jay Manuel also appears in Reality Check.
