Natalie Portman on Why Her Kids Don’t Watch Her Movies

Natalie Portman isn’t counting on her kids to watch any of her films by May or even December.

The Avengers: Endgame actress—who shares kids Aleph, 14, and Amelia, 8, with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied—shared that her kids aren’t interested in seeing her on the big screen, even in the iconic Star Wars films.

“My kids are so resistant to seeing anything that I’m in,” Natalie told E! News’ Will Marfuggi at The Gallerist premiere at Sundance Jan. 24. “I was always like, ‘Yeah, if you want to see it, like if some of your friends have seen it or whatever.’ And they were like “’No, thanks.’”

But that’s just because they want the Oscar winner in her best role: mom.

As she put it, “They kind of just want to see me as me, which I appreciate.”

But this wouldn’t be the first time that Natalie has shared insight into her family life. After finalizing her divorce from Benjamin in March 2023, the 44-year-old shared a rare glimpse into her dynamic with the former couple’s kids.
