“Fortunately, they caught it early enough where I didn’t have to do any radiation or chemotherapy or anything,” he said of his testicular cancer battle. “That’s one of the things that I just wanted to avoid, ’cause when I had testicular cancer back in 2006, I waited almost until it was too late and it had started to spread.”
“When they did the surgery and they tested lymph nodes and that sort of thing, they determined that it had spread, so I had to do radiation treatment,” he recalled. “I did not want to go through any of that stuff anymore.”
Although having a prostatectomy, where the prostate gland is removed, was a difficult decision, he doesn’t regret it.
“It hasn’t been an easy recovery ’cause there’s learning how to go to the bathroom and erectile stuff,” he admitted, “but knowing that I don’t have to deal with this in the future and that I can potentially move on is just something I’m super grateful for.”
