Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos Reveal Their Kids’ Reaction to Being “Cut” From Holiday Tradition
Mark Consuelos will soon be working from morning to night.
The Live With Kelly & Mark cohost’s wife Kelly RIpa made the “huge announcement” that her husband is heading to Broadway in March, making his debut on the Great White Way.
“You see this man right here, Mark Consuelos, cohost of this here talk show, he’s going to Broadway,” Kelly revelead during the Jan. 21 episode of their eponymous talk show. “He’s going to be starring in Fallen Angels by Noël Coward, directed by the great Scott Ellis, starring the incredible Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara.”
And while Mark admitted he “started sweating” when the news became real to him, he detailed his excitement, too.
“No, listen, I’ve been wanting to do this—I love getting on stage,” the 54-year-old said. “It’s been years since I’ve had a chance to do it, because of travel and not living here in New York City, and I’m anchored here now. I’m trapped.”
But Mark isn’t the only member of the Consuelos family making his debut this spring. Indeed, his and Kelly’s youngest son Joaquin Consuelos, 22, is also taking the stage “at basically the same time” in March to star in Death of a Salesman alongside Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf.
