Cirie Fields on Motherhood, Kids, CBS Show’s Impact

Cirie Fields’ losses were her children’s gains.

As the Survivor legend reflected on her five seasons on the CBS competition series, she detailed how her experiences on the show influenced the way she parented her sons John, 36, Jamil, 31, and Jared, 27.

“My children grew up watching me on Survivor,” Cirie told E! News in an exclusive interview at the New York premiere of season 50 on Feb. 24. “I wanted them to see the good and the bad. I wanted them to see wins and losses and I wanted them to know that, although you may not win, it’s not really all about the ending. It’s about the journey.”

The 55-year-old, who stars alongside Mike White, Q Burdette and Savannah Louie this season, added, “They’ve been able to witness my journey. And if you ask them, they’re like, ‘Oh, my mom won in so many ways. You guys just don’t understand.’ Because they were able to ride with me and witness.”
