People We Meet on Vacation’s Emily Bader Reacts to Costar Tom Blyth Calling Her “The Next Meg Ryan”
Emily Henry has another tale to tell.
The author’s novel Funny Story will soon be getting its own movie on Netflix, multiple outlets confirmed Jan. 8. The news comes just one day before Henry’s People We Meet On Vacation is set to premiere on the platform.
Funny Story, published in 2024, follows children’s librarian Daphne, who is in the midst of coping with a breakup after her fiancé Peter realized that he is in love with his childhood best friend, Petra. Out of necessity, Daphne becomes roommates with Petra’s ex Miles, with the two forming a bond and a plan to get back at their exes.
Henry is set to write the script for the streaming adaptation, according to Variety, which reported that there is no director or casting information available at this time.
Henry’s Happy Place—originally published in 2023—is also being adapted at Netflix, but has shifted from a TV series into a film about former couple Harriet and Wyn who pretend to still be together during a trip with friends.
