Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer are moving forward with their divorce.
The Trainwreck star filed for legal separation from her husband of seven years on Jan. 6, according to New York County court records reviewed by E! News.
A lawyer representing Amy—who shares 6-year-old son Gene with her ex—submitted documents for an “uncontested joint divorce,” meaning there are no disagreements between the two parties over how to split finances, property and child custody in the breakup.
The filing comes less than one month after Amy, 44, shared that she and Chris, 45, had “made the difficult decision” to end their marriage.
“We love each other very much,” she said in an Instagram statement Dec. 12, “and will continue to focus on raising our son.”
The comedian also shut down speculation of what went wrong.
“Not because I dropped some lbs,” she quipped of her recent weight loss, “and not because he’s a hot James Beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail.”
Amy added, “Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.”
